Inspektor Gadget Is Now an AKS Extension (Preview)

Microsoft has released the Inspektor Gadget cluster extension for Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), currently in preview. This open-source, CNCF sandbox project leverages eBPF to observe kernel-level activity in Kubernetes workloads—such as DNS queries, TCP connections, and process execution—without modifying applications. The extension simplifies installation and lifecycle management via Azure Resource Manager, replacing manual Helm-based setups. It runs as a DaemonSet, enriching raw kernel events with Kubernetes metadata (pod name, namespace, node).
