Getting Started Using Hadoop, Part 3: Loading Data

This article, part 3 of a series, explains how to upload data to the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS). It demonstrates using the Hue File Browser GUI to load the public Airline Dataset, provides command-line download scripts for OSX, and discusses file compression for efficient uploads, setting the stage for using Pig or Hive in subsequent tutorials.
