DotFriedRice: niri / Arch Desktop Environment with Modern CLI Tools

This article introduces DotFriedRice, an opinionated set of configs and scripts for quickly setting up a development environment. It supports Arch Linux, Debian, Ubuntu, macOS, and WSL 2. Highlights include shell (zsh) tweaking, tmux setup, Neovim configuration, SSH/GPG key creation, and installation of modern CLI tools and programming languages. The optional desktop environment features niri (Wayland compositor), Waybar, and Walker, with hotkey and mouse support. The project emphasizes customization and theming, offering two themes (Tokyonight Moon and Gruvbox Dark Medium) that update live across tools. It is aimed at developers and power users seeking a repeatable, efficient system setup.
