RhymePad: Seeing the Sound

This article introduces RhymePad, a web-based scratchpad for poets and rappers that visualizes rhyme structures in real time as users type. Unlike traditional rhyming dictionaries that require word-by-word lookups, RhymePad analyzes the actual sounds of lyrics, displaying end rhymes, internal rhymes, slant rhymes, and multisyllabic patterns using a color-coded system where each rhyme family gets a unique hue and brightness indicates rhyme strength. The tool was built using Claude Code through vibe coding. The article explains the design philosophy of meeting users where they are in the creative process, making rhyme architecture visible without leaving the verse. It is highly relevant to IT/TECHNOLOGY as it covers software development, AI-assisted coding, and a technical tool for creative writing.
