Read Original

This article reproduces and compares filesystem error handling studies from 2005 and 2008, injecting errors at the block device level. It tests modern filesystems (ext4, btrfs) and legacy ones (ext3, jfs) to see if error handling for read, write, and silent failures has improved over time, presenting results in a comparative table.
