Introducing JekyllBot

Read Original

The article introduces JekyllBot, a solution for Jekyll sites hosted on GitHub Pages, which doesn't allow custom plugins. JekyllBot runs on Heroku, listens for GitHub pushes, uses a plugin to generate JSON representations of posts/pages, and commits the files back. This enables RESTful, machine-readable content APIs (accessible via .json URLs) for frontend manipulation while maintaining the convenience of web editors and GitHub Pages hosting.
