This technical article addresses the problem of dropped in-flight requests during system shutdown on Linux systems using systemd and supervisord. It proposes and details a solution using a custom systemd unit to drain connections, taking the service out of a load balancer pool and allowing existing requests to complete before supervisord is stopped.
