SP 2010: Custom RSS provider for your Business Connectivity Services (BCS) connected External Lists

This article presents a beta custom RSS feed generator for SharePoint 2010 Business Connectivity Services (BCS) external lists, which lack built-in RSS functionality. It explains the limitation of using REST and ListData.svc with external lists, then introduces a feature that adds two ribbon buttons: one to view the feed and one for administrators to map RSS fields (title, author, pubDate, description) to list columns.
