Mermaid to Unicode box art (grok-mermaid)

This article introduces a tool that converts Mermaid diagram syntax into terminal-style Unicode box-drawing art, rendered entirely in the browser via WebAssembly. It supports flowcharts, sequence, state, class, and ER diagrams, with other types falling back to a framed source listing. Users can adjust output width, copy text, or generate shareable links. The tool was inspired by exploring the open-sourced Grok CLI coding agent's Rust codebase, specifically a self-contained terminal renderer for Mermaid diagrams, and was built using Claude Code for web.
