Anthropic has acquired the company behind the Bun JavaScript runtime, which it already used for Claude Code. The announcement reveals Claude Code reached $1 billion in annual run-rate revenue within six months. Bun's founder states the acquisition allows the team to focus on building the best JavaScript and AI tooling without monetization pressure, as Bun becomes core infrastructure for Anthropic's AI coding products.
