Testing Conversations in Orchestrate via Agentic Skill

This article discusses a new watsonx-orchestrate skill that enables developers to test agents directly in IBM watsonx Orchestrate environments from the Bob agentic development tool. It covers the importance of Test-Driven Development (TDD) for agentic workflows, the ability to run smoke tests for both single-turn and multi-turn conversations, and the use of a wrapper script (wxo-chat.sh) to programmatically interact with Orchestrate agents via REST API instead of the interactive CLI. The skill is open-source and automates agent generation, deployment, and testing, including reading starter prompts from YAML definitions and aggregating results into reports.
