Seasons time-lapse - the foundations

This article describes a personal artistic project where the author, over several years, took photos from the same location during runs to create a seasons time-lapse video. With no prior experience in image manipulation or video making, the author used coding assistants (LLMs) to build a Python-based processing pipeline. The pipeline includes steps for inventorying photos, filtering by GPS coordinates, aligning images to a reference angle, ordering by day-of-year and time-of-day, and rendering into a video. The article reflects on the technical choices and the role of LLM assistance, focusing on the project's foundations and stack selection (Python).
