GExperts: New Expert “Menu Items to Actions”

This article describes a new GExperts expert called 'Menu Items to Actions' that simplifies converting Delphi forms from using a plain TMainMenu to a TMainMenu combined with a TActionList. It automates the tedious process of creating actions for each menu item, copying captions, shortcuts, and event handlers, and assigning actions back to menu items. The expert filters items that can be converted, allows configuration of prefix stripping and addition for action names, and ensures no source code is altered except form declarations. It also highlights a side effect where the IDE stops writing linked properties to the DFM file.
